Google Pixel Update: Users of the Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro are now getting an update over the air (OTA) that adds many new features. This update helps the Pixel 7 series the most, but the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro from last year also get the good stuff.
Pixel Feature Drop
The update, which is called “Pixel Feature Drop,” also adds new features to the Pixel Watch, which just came out. There are also changes to how the Pixel devices handle privacy and security. Note that the Pixel Feature Drop update is being released in batches around the world, so if it hasn’t reached your device yet, you will have to wait. The update is free to get, but users will have to check for it themselves by going to the Settings app. Pixel devices in the A series, like the Google Pixel 4a, will be able to get the feature drop update.

With a new interface, security and privacy get a big boost as well. The new action cards tell users about any security risks and show them easy ways to protect their privacy and safety.
Recorder now identifies and labels each speaker
The Pixel Recorder app will also be able to label different speakers. When you record and transcribe a conversation in English using a Pixel 6 or a newer device, Recorder now identifies and labels each speaker and inserts line breaks when the speaker changes. This feature is only available on devices with English language support. You can label each person when you record an interview, meeting, lecture, or conversation.

Machine learning is used in this feature to label speakers live and on the device. With the update, the Google One app now has a free VPN feature, but it doesn’t work in India yet. The update also adds the ability to use Digital Car Keys, more languages for Live Translate, Grammar Check on Gboard, a much better on-device search on Pixel 4a and newer models, and Voice Message Transcription in Messages on Pixel 4a and newer models. Plus, you can now enjoy some new wallpapers and live wallpapers.
