iPhone 15 series to come with a battery health protection feature? All we know

iPhone 15: The Apple iPhone 15 series will be on sale on September 22nd, and pre-orders will begin on Friday, September 15th. It will run with iOS 17, and one of the new iOS features for iPhone 15 will be a charging limitation option, which should aid with the battery’s longevity. In this article, we will tell you all about this amazing upcoming feature.

iPhone 15 series’ new feature

Users will be able to choose the maximum charge level for their iPhone using this new function. By configuring this restriction, denoted as 75 per cent in the Settings > Battery section, the iPhone will limit charging to around 75 per cent of its capacity the next time the charger is attached.

We don’t know if it will be exclusive to USB-C iPhones or if it will be available on the iPhone 15 series at launch.

However, when the iOS 17 stable version is released on Monday, September 18th, the feature is likely to be present within the Battery Settings menu.

How will this feature benefit?

Charging a Lithium-ion battery to capacity is considered to harm the battery’s health.

Within Settings > Battery > Battery Health and Charging, there is a feature called Maximum Capacity that displays a relative measure of the battery capacity in comparison to when it was new. The lower this value, the fewer hours the iPhone battery will last.

So if you do not charge the battery to its maximum capacity, again and again, the batter’s health will stay good for a longer period of time.
