Lost Phone: Smartphones have become an integral part of our lives. All of us use our smartphones on the go. We depend on smartphones for daily activities such as talking to friends and families and making digital transactions. But have you ever imagined what will you do if you misplace your smartphone or get stolen by a thief? If your smartphone goes into the wrong hands, it can make your bank account empty in a duration of seconds. If you have also lost your smartphone recently, check simple steps to prevent your bank funds.
Block Your SIM Card
Firstly, you should contact your service provider to file a request for blocking your SIM card. For this, you can contact the customer number of the respective telecom company or you can directly dial 14422 on your dial pad.
File an FIR
Then, you should immediately go to your nearest police station to file an FIR. We advise you to not hesitate when the authorities ask you to provide them with some important information such as your device name, IMEI number and other details.
Lock Your Smartphone Remotely
If you enabled “Find My Device” or “Find My iPhone” before it was lost, you can remotely erase all the data and lock your smartphone, leaving it a non-usable device for the thief. This feature can also help you keep your private data safe.
Additional Tips
- You must keep some important information ready. This includes your smartphone's IMEI number and other details.
- Keep the "Find My Device" or "Find My iPhone" feature always activated.
- Keep your smartphone locked with a pattern lock or PIN.
