New satellite will carry pictures of Bhagwad Gita and PM Modi into space

The tradition of foreign agencies sending names of people in large space missions has now been included in the space mission of India. Satish Dhawan Satellite, the first private sector satellite, will reach space for the first time on the lines of NASA, with the name of Bhagwad Gita, a picture of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and 25 thousand Indian people (especially students). ISRO will launch this satellite along with two other private satellites from its reliable polar satellite launch vehicle ‘PSLV C-51’.

Rifat Shahrukh, the chief technical officer of SpaceKidz, a Chennai based company that manufactures the SD set, said that an additional chip will be installed in this 3.5 kg Nano satellite, which will have the names of all the people. This nanosatellite has been named after the founder of India’s space program. Specskids aims to promote astronomy among students through this mission.

Dr. Kason, founder and CEO of SpaceKids India, said, “There is a lot of excitement in all of us right now. This will be our first satellite to be deployed in space. When we finalized the mission, we asked people to send names that would be sent to space. And, within a week we got 25 thousand entries. 1,000 of these names were sent by people from outside India. We decided to do so because this mish would promote people’s interest in space science. Those whose names will be sent will also be given a “boarding pass”.

Kesan further explained that on the lines of other space missions, he also decided to send Bhagavata Geeta into space. Even before this, people have taken holy books like Bible into space.

He said, we have also added the Prime Minister’s name and photo on the top panel. The satellite has been fully developed and fabricated in India including electronics and circuitry.
