Microsoft: In a ground-breaking collaboration, Suno, an AI music startup, and Microsoft's AI chatbot Copilot have made it possible for users to quickly compose original songs. Now that a new plug-in has been released, Copilot users can use the chatbot platform to directly access Suno's creative music production tool.
Microsoft Copilot and Suno
To use this integration, Copilot users only need to sign in to their accounts, activate the Suno plug-in, and choose the "Make music with Suno" option. In order to compose a song, participants are asked to write a brief text prompt that describes the song they have in mind.
Once these suggestions are entered into Copilot, Suno quickly creates a song, often lasting one or two minutes, along with a transcript of the lyrics.
There are other companies pursuing AI-generated music as well, but this partnership between Microsoft and Suno represents a major advancement in the field. Google and Meta are two other prominent tech companies that are testing their own generative AI music tools. Using hummed melodies or text cues, Meta's AudioCraft and Google's YouTube application generate creative music. Furthermore, with similar promises of inventive music creation, a wave of AI music firms has developed, including Beatbox, Magenta, and Soundful.
Limitations
It's against the rules for Suno free-tier customers to monetize songs created by AI on websites like YouTube or Spotify. Nonetheless, customers who pay for access can use their musical works for commercial purposes. It is important to remember that Suno maintains ownership of music created by free users, even though sharing these compositions on social media or using them for non-commercial purposes is still allowed.
