OpenAI: Sam Altman, the man behind ChatGPT, took aim at Elon Musk and his newly released chatbot Grok. Sam Altman mockingly referred to the chatbot Grok as “Cringey boomer humour.”

Altman posted a screenshot of the most recent iteration of the OpenAI-backed ChatGPT on November 9. This version lets you make personalised ChatGPT versions or GPTs.

Posting a screenshot of ChatGPT’s most recent version, which enables users to create customised GPTs, Altman wrote in a tweet that “GPTs can save a lot of effort.” Adding to the ongoing rumoured rivalry between the two, Altman gave the GPT Builder instructions to “Be a chatbot that answers questions with cringey boomer humour in an awkward shock-to-get-laughs sort of way.”

“Great, the chatbot is set up! Its name is Grok. How do you like the name, or would you prefer something else?” is GPT Builder’s response to Altman’s question. In addition to downplaying Musk’s Grok model, Altman has highlighted ChatGPT’s most recent features. Musk has not yet answered the tweet. Altman’s tweet has received hundreds of comments and more than 25K likes thus far.

Elon Musk’s Grok

Elon Musk‘s xAI company has released a new AI model called “Grok,” which has a number of features that might shake up the language model industry. The best of these is real-time information access.
Unlike other large language models (LLMs), Grok is trained using “real-time knowledge” from the X (formerly Twitter) network. According to the news release, the AI model is intended to answer any question, including ones that conventional systems are unable to identify.

The generative AI model is being developed with the stated intention of assisting humanity in its quest for “knowledge and understanding.”
