New Update
Google Maps

Google Maps: Recently, Google Maps' Location Communicating feature was released, giving users a handy tool for meeting up, communicating where others are, and making sure loved ones are safe. We've all used WhatsApp's widely used "share locations" feature to coordinate pick-up and drop-off locations with pals or even logistics for a house party. Because it utilises Google Maps, which functions flawlessly on all phones with somewhat steady Internet connectivity, Google's Location Sharing tool is really helpful. It is also rather simple to use.

Google Maps' live location

Google's version of the app functions directly within Android phones, eliminating the need for additional apps, unlike previous versions of WhatsApp that allowed you to reveal your location for a set period of time.

It's simple to get this feature. To share a location, both individuals must add each other as Google friends. Then, when you view your friend's information, a "share location" button appears. You can share your location at that moment or at any time by clicking this button. It's cool since you can turn it off whenever you want, which is really practical.

Additionally, you have the option to programme it to share your location just during specified periods of time, in which case it will cease sharing. However, even after that particular period of time, if you so like, you are free to continue revealing your whereabouts.

How to use this feature

  • Make sure you are signed into your Google account before opening the Google Maps app on an Android phone or tablet. It goes without saying that you need to upgrade your app to the most recent version.
  • You may find the Location Sharing option by tapping on your profile image or initial that is displayed in the program. This will open a menu.
  • Click the New Share button.
  • Choose the length of time you wish to disclose your location, being flexible based on your own preferences.
  • If you wish to share your location with someone, tap their profile. When Google Maps asks for contact access, give it permission.
  • After you've made your decision, click Share. For the duration provided, the designated person will now have access to your location.
