This week, fake, sexually explicit photos of the singer have been widely circulated on social media. These photographs were probably made with artificial intelligence. Taylor Swift deepfake controversy
After becoming viral for around 17 hours on X (previously known as Twitter) and being viewed over 47 million times, the most viral image was finally removed on Thursday.
Taylor and her group are thinking about suing the website that produced and shared these images.
X responded to the event by releasing a statement outlining its zero-tolerance policy for such content and its position on non-consensual nudity (NCN). The Elon Musk-owned website announced that it was actively deleting the pictures and prosecuting the owners. The pictures persisted in going viral on apps like Telegram in spite of these actions.
Where did the images come from?
A particular Telegram channel dedicated to offensive pictures of women is where 404 Media found the AI-deepkake versions of Taylor Swift‘s photos. Utilising a free Microsoft text-to-image generator is one of the group’s tools.
