Elon Musk: Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter, has provided some recent updates that the microblogging platform will experience. The business’s owner announced in a tweet that all of the code used to suggest tweets will be made publicly available.
Twitter will open source all of the code used to suggest tweets
On March 31st, he stated in a tweet, Twitter will open source all of the code used to suggest tweets. The Twitter recommendation algorithm, according to Musk, is extremely complex and not fully understood within the company. “People will discover many silly things, but we’ll patch issues as soon as they’re found!” Musk tweeted. “Providing code transparency will be incredibly embarrassing at first, but it should lead to rapid improvement in recommendation quality,” he added.

No significant Twitter alternatives
According to a foundation for the software ecosystem, making the code open source would allow developers, including aspirant competitors, to customise the algorithm. Following billionaire Musk’s purchase of Twitter in October, the platform has endured outages, layoffs and seen advertisers depart over the absence of content moderation. But, there are currently no significant Twitter alternatives, leaving world leaders, politicians, celebrities, and businesses with little choice but to continue using the site for communication.

Twitter is reportedly operating on a skeleton workforce after numerous rounds of layoffs saw more than two thirds of people let go, making it susceptible to outages as well as false information and malicious content. The results of Musk’s efforts to wean Twitter off of advertising and promote subscriptions as a new revenue stream have been dismal thus far; Meta is also trying this notion.
