5G Unlimited: In 2022, two major telecoms started 5G services for their customers, but now the 5G networks have reached in most of the areas of India. Some of the major telecoms including Jio are offering unlimited 5G services to their customers. Most of the telecoms have not charged any extra fee for their 5G plans as they are offering these plans at the same price that existed for 4G plans. but these companies are now planning to start charging for unlimited 5G services. According to a report, telecoms in India are set to make some major alterations in their plan which will impact users in various ways, check more details below.
What Exactly the Report Says
As per a report, there are a total of 125 Million 5G subscribers in India who are using the 5G plans without paying any additional fee for it. However, the report states that soon the major telecom companies in India will stop providing plans with 5G speed free of cost. It is said that these companies will make a new category of 5G plans which will be available with higher price tags than 4G plans.
How Much Extra Fee Will Be Charged?
A report by the Economic Times mentions that 5G plans will be costlier by 5 to 10 Percent when compared with 4G Plans. The report also mentions that most of the telecom companies in India are planning to make a price hike of around 20 per cent in all their existing plans. The report further adds that these changes in prices will be made by mid-2024 in India. It also mentions that 5G users in India will be increased by 200 Million by the end of 2024.
