WhatsApp to Bring in Two New Exciting Features! Channel Ownership Transfer and Create Reports Feature in Pipeline

WhatsApp: Meta-owned messaging platform, WhatsApp is reportedly working on several new features. In a recent development, the company has announced that it will bring in new features to transfer the ownership of channels and functionality to create reports. These features are presently limited to the Beta version of WhatsApp and now it is expected to come in the stable version of the App.

WhatsApp Ownership Transfer Feature

A new option has been introduced to the channel settings screen in the most recent version of WhatsApp beta for Android, 2.24.4.22, according to a report by WABetaInfo. This option enables the current channel owner to initiate the transfer process by selecting a new owner from the list of qualified users. The new owner will assume full administrative control over the channel, including the ability to manage channel settings and data if they approve the transfer request.

In addition, the new channel owner will have the authority to dismiss other administrators, delete the channel and more. With this new feature, users will be able to assign administrative tasks to other users when needed which will give them more freedom and control over their channels. With the help of this upgrade, users will be able to easily manage and assign ownership of their WhatsApp channels to others.

WhatsApp Create Reports Feature

As per reports, WhatsApp is working on a new feature that will allow users to create reports for their channel and account activity automatically. Users will be able to able to use this feature by navigating to the WhatsApp Settings > Account > Request Account Info. If users enable this and give their permission, WhatsApp will automatically create a report every month that details the activity of user accounts as well as channels.

WhatsApp Ownership Transfer Feature Availability

WhatsApp’s new Ownership transfer feature is currently limited to some beta testers. The Meta-owned messaging platform is expected to roll out this feature to more users in the coming days. However, if you want to try this new feature, you can switch to the beta version of WhatsApp.
