WhatsApp to soon let users send ‘view once texts,’ all you should know about this feature

WhatsApp: The Meta-owned instant messaging service WhatsApp is apparently working on adding the ability to send “view once text” messages to a future update of the programme after releasing the “view once media” function on its platform.

All about the new WhatsApp feature

The function, which allows users to send messages that can only be viewed once before disappearing, is presently available in WhatsApp’s Android beta version. According to the source, the app may eventually have a padlock-shaped button with the classic send message logo to access the feature.

Users will no longer need to manually remove information transmitted without consent from the recipient’s phone thanks to this feature, which will do it for them. The same cannot be done with view-only text messages, just as it is not feasible to forward or copy view-only photos and videos.

If they are using the most recent version of the app, WhatsApp now stops recipients from screenshotting a piece of view-once material; however, it is unknown whether this security will be extended to text messages, according to the article. The messaging service also launched a brand-new disappearing messages shortcut for Android beta earlier this month. The new shortcut is marked as a space-saving utility and is located in the “Manage Storage” section.

Other upcoming feature

WhatsApp is developing a significant new feature. On the desktop version of the site, a new feature has begun to roll out that allows users to search groups by inputting a contact name. The feature started to surface for certain users after installing the most recent WhatsApp Desktop version. By typing a contact’s name into the search field, users can now see a list of all the recent groups they have in common with that contact.

Users who have joined numerous groups on the site and have forgotten the name of a group they have in common with a particular contact may find it useful. According to the source, it will be made available to more people over the next few days. In a previous WhatsApp Desktop beta release, the messaging service was apparently working on a group chat mute shortcut.
