What precisely is Devin capable of doing then? Basically, it can handle just about everything you throw at it. Devin can help with everything from learning new technologies to creating and deploying apps from scratch to finding and repairing annoying problems in code. It can even solve problems in open-source projects and train its own AI models.
Devin performed significantly better than earlier AI models when tested on real-world problems; it solved about 14% of problems, compared to less than 2% for its predecessors. That is revolutionary in the field of software engineering.
The fact that Devin isn’t restricted to lab tests is possibly the most fascinating part. It has already been used on websites such as Upwork, where it handled practical coding assignments with ease, such as creating thorough reports and debugging computer vision models.
