Youtube: The short, vertical videos known as "YouTube Shorts" now have additional creation tools from Google-owned YouTube, including a Collab tool, Q&A sticker, and many other features.

According to the company's blog post “YouTube Shorts are now being watched by over 2B logged-in users every month, and today we’re introducing new ways to spark imagination and creativity."

Youtube Shorts getting new features

Creators will be able to ask questions and get answers directly in the comments when YouTube rolls out its Q&A sticker in the near future. The ability to call out people that inspire their content is another feature that allows producers to reply to comments with a Short.

YouTube is also experimenting with a vertical live experience that is mobile-first and enables live producers to be found directly in the Shorts feed. The Shorts feed will now include previews of vertical live videos, giving creators new chances to interact with their audience. For live creators, there will also be features like Super Chat, Super Stickers, and channel memberships accessible.

Collab makes its debut today for iOS producers and will progressively expand to Android users over the next weeks. The upcoming weeks will see the release of more tools, and the upcoming months will see viewers gradually transition to the full-screen experience.

Additionally, YouTube revealed that they are working on a tool that will let creators turn their horizontal videos into YouTube Shorts. The creator will have control over the arrangement, zoom, and video clips that they want to turn into Shorts.

It will take a few weeks before YouTube begins to roll out this functionality because it is still in the development stage. According to YouTube, the main goal of this feature is to capture key moments in long-form videos as Shorts and distribute them to the audience for more audience involvement and engagement.
