But, even though a few of the audience members were not as satisfied, Squid Game Season 2 broke the viewing hours record of Squid Game Season 1 on Netflix.
Squid Game Season 2 Outpaces Season 1 on Netflix
As per Netflix\’s official data, season 2 of Lee Jung Jae starrer Squid Game has surpassed the viewing hours of Season 1 in the first week of its release. On 1st January, Netflix recorded the data of Squid Game which revealed that season 2 has gained a satisfying 487.6 million hours which is 38.87 Million hours more than season 1. The Squid Game season 1 recorded 448.73 Million hours in its first week in 2021. This breaking records achievement showcases the show\’s success and the upcoming season\’s anticipation.
Season 2 Also Topped Netflix in Many Countries
Another big achievement for South Korean entertainment is that their latest release Squid Game Season 2 has topped Netflix in more than 90 countries. As per Netflix Data, Squid Game Season 2 became #1 in as many as 93 Countries worldwide, making a new record for Non-English series. Talking about revenues, so, as per Eyes Wide Open Korea on Instagram, the show is estimated to earn above a billion dollars. Which is almost 10 times more than the production cost of the season.
Squid Game Season 3 Is Coming in 2025
When something is good and unique people want it more and more. As the team of Squid Game has already spoken about the upcoming season three in 2024, Netflix officially announced the Season 3 of Squid Game on 1st January. They shared a post featuring the famous Red Light Green Light Doll along with another Male Doll and wrote, “All dolled up and ready! Watch Squid Game Season 3, coming in 2025, only on Netflix!”
