Eve teasing and molestation plague women across India without pause. In Bareilly district, a new viral video captured a man on a bike grabbing a girl student’s chest. The footage shows the accused fleeing quickly after the assault. Local Reporter Sachin Gupta posted this viral video online to raise alarm.

Prompted by public outrage, police traced the man’s location within hours. They intercepted him and shot him in the leg to halt his escape. This arrest highlights urgent concerns about women’s safety on public roads.

Viral Video of Student Molested in Broad Daylight While Walking to Coaching Centre

Sachin Gupta, a local shopkeeper, shared a stark viral video online yesterday. It shows a man riding a bike slowly behind a female student. As she walks into view, the man reaches out to grope her chest. He then speeds away into a nearby lane.

Gupta’s post, sharply captioned to ignite swift public attention, helped propel the video to viral status. The footage became a crucial lead for law enforcement, allowing officers to identify the accused. Acting quickly, police tracked him down, and after a short pursuit, they shot him in the leg to subdue him before making the arrest on charges of eve-teasing.

Superintendent of Police Abhishek Yadav later commented under the viral post, attaching an image of the official arrest notification. In his statement, he wrote, “The culprits have been caught. Their punishment is underway. Within a day or two, even the bushes in their village will start growing again”, a remark interpreted as both a warning and reassurance to the public.

Are Public Harassment and Molestation Cases Increasing Across Urban Areas?

Recent months saw similar attacks in Delhi and Lucknow streets. In one case, a woman faced harassment on a crowded bus. Another such incident occurred at a busy market in Kanpur. Not only this but many cases like this are not even registered or known.

These replays spark public outrage yet fail to prevent fresh assaults. This pattern raises fears over growing street harassment in urban centres. Is it alarming that such cases appear on the rise again? Without stronger prevention measures, women remain vulnerable everywhere.

Tougher Policing and Swift Justice: What Should Be Done to Deter Such Crimes?

First, authorities must install more CCTV cameras in public spaces. Second, police should act on viral video evidence without delay. Third, self-defence training can empower girls to fight back. Moreover, community patrols would deter eve-teasers on lonely roads.

Schools and coaching centres must teach students how to report assaults. In addition, bystanders need clear hotlines to summon help immediately. Swift legal action and public awareness can curb future attacks.

The Bareilly viral video shows the urgency for real change. Vigilance and decisive policing can protect women on every street.
