CBSE History Class 12 Exam: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has found into a controversy yet again. A QR code that was printed on the history question paper for class 12th students allegedly redirected CBSE students to content linked to social media influencer Orry. This incident came to the limelight after the Arts stream examinations concluded on March 31.
Students appearing for the history exam shared videos on social media platforms like Facebook, X and Instagram. The posts showed that scanning a specific code on the history question paper redirected to a search on Google linked to Orry.

Surprisingly, Orry responded to the buzz and said that he was taken aback initially. Orry said he only believed in it after he checked it himself.
No official confirmation from CBSE has been issued till date. Previously, a user shared Class 12 mathematics paper carrying a QR code that redirected to a song ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’ by Rick Astley.
Social Media Comments
A social media user commented, “CBSE really said “dynamic syllabus” and meant it Ashoka went from Mauryan Empire to influencer economy. Students came for history, left with pop culture trauma. Next exam: Harappa civilization hosted by a vlog channel.” Another said, “Imagine revising 10 chapters and Orry shows up in the exam. Ashoka built pillars, Orry built confusion. NCERT didn’t prepare us for this crossover episode. Even the invigilator probably needed context.”
A user said, “CBSE really tested scanning skills instead of history. Forget sources of history, now sources are influencers. Next year they’ll ask “Explain Mughal Empire with reels”. Education system doing experimental cinema.” Another said, “This is not a glitch, this is a plot twist. Ashoka renounced violence, students renounced expectations. History paper became a surprise guest episode. Even Google must be confused about its role here, ha ha.”
