Battle Of Galwan: Salman Khan To Skip Eid Release For His Indo-China War Film Due To BIG Reason – Possible Timeline Inside

Salman Khan is all set to return with his highly anticipated war drama, Battle of Galwan. The first look of the film has already created a massive buzz as it presents the superstar in a rugged and intense avatar. However, there’s a major update that says Salman will not release this film on Eid, breaking his long-followed tradition of festive releases.

Why Salman Khan Is Skipping Eid Release?

For years, Eid has been Salman’s blockbuster window, and fans expected Battle of Galwan to follow the same route. But insiders confirm this isn’t happening.

A source revealed to Bollywood Hungama that  the makers have no plans to release the film on Eid. The reason is that three big films (Toxic starring Yash, Dhamaal 4, and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love And War with Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal) are already set for March 19, 2026. Salman does not want to clash with these releases and has decided not to announce Battle of Galwan as an Eid release for now.

The report mentions that makers are now considering two windows – January or June 2026. Another source added, “The team plans to wrap the shoot in 55-60 days. If post-production moves fast, they can still make it for January. If not, June will be the final call.”

Fans are curious why Bakri Eid in May isn’t an option. The reason is the IPL season, which ends around the same time and could impact the box office. The source explained that Salman is a huge star and does not need a festival or holiday to make a film successful. They added that if the movie has an exciting story and presents him in a massy role, nothing can stop Battle of Galwan from becoming a hit, even if it releases on a regular day without any holiday advantage.

About Battle Of Galwan

Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, Battle of Galwan is based on the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese troops in Ladakh. The confrontation was one of the most intense in modern history, fought without firearms at 15,000 feet altitude.

The first look revealed Salman Khan in a bloodied, fierce army avatar, holding a barbed-wire stick, capturing the raw and gritty nature of the conflict. The film also stars Chitrangda Singh in a significant role and will feature high-octane action sequences with an emotional storyline.

Filming will take place across Ladakh, Mumbai, and Kashmir. Produced by Salman Khan Films, Battle of Galwan promises to be one of Bollywood’s most ambitious war dramas, celebrating the bravery and sacrifice of Indian soldiers.
