‘He Dumped Me’ Miley Cyrus Felt Devastated By Her Breakup With Priyanka Chopra’s Husband And Her Ex Nick Jonas

Miley Cyrus is done keeping things private. The Flowers singer has been opening up about everything from family issues and heartbreak to career struggles. In a recent episode of the Every Single Album podcast, she spoke honestly about her past with Nick Jonas.

Miley and Nick dated on and off from 2006 to 2009. It was a Disney-era romance that many fans still remember. But Miley didn’t hold back on how things really ended.

During the chat, she said, “I like Nick. I’m into him,” That might sound sweet, but she went on to share how hurt she was when Nick didn’t let her join his music tour. She remembered asking, “Why are you leaving me? Why don’t we do it together?”

She said she was left “distraught and sobbing” while Nick moved ahead on his own. Miley still wanted to stay in the Disney zone, but Nick was ready to break away.

Now, both stars have moved on. Nick is married to Priyanka Chopra and has a daughter, Malti. Miley has been dating Maxx Morando since 2021.

Singer Recalls Their Breakup

The singer also revealed that in 2009, while writing her book Miles to Go, she wanted to express her real feelings. She said, “Nick Jonas dumped me, he’s a d**k.” Her team didn’t allow it. They edited it down (in the book) to saying Nick wasn’t a “very nice boy.” Looking back, Miley laughed and added, “He’s an a**hole.” Fans were surprised, but many appreciated her honesty.

Even with her bold words, Miley didn’t sound bitter. She praised Nick for showing love to Disney stars like Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, and herself. She also gave fans a throwback shoutout with “Niley for life.”

Miley also shared a lesser-known detail that after leaving Hannah Montana in 2011, she wasn’t allowed to perform songs from the show. She said, “I wasn’t allowed to sing them. That was sad.”

She explained how strange it felt not being able to perform tracks with her voice and face on them. That finally changed in 2024 when she was honoured as a Disney Legend. Now, she can sing them again and fully embrace her Disney roots.
