Speaking to India Today, the Aashiq Banaya Apne actress said her story mirrors what happened to Sushant Singh Rajput.
Tanushree Dutta Opens Up About Career Struggles After Her Viral Crying Video
Tanushree shared that she recently contacted the police after facing strange and disturbing incidents. Explaining how she felt, the actress said, “Mahadev ki koi leela thi aur main ro rahi thi yeh soch ke ki yaar kya ho raha hai meri life mein.” The police asked her to file a detailed report, which she now plans to do with her lawyer’s help.
The actress claimed that several of her films (especially those with strong female roles) were cancelled one after another. She said one producer was even forced to flee to Bhutan. The actress said, “Ek toh producer ko dara dhamka ke unhone Bhutan bhaga diya.” She believes this was a clear case of career sabotage by a group within the film industry.
Tanushree is known for starting the #MeToo wave in India in 2018 when she accused Nana Patekar of misconduct. In this interview, she drew comparisons between her experience and that of Sushant Singh Rajput, saying both were victims of an organised attempt to sideline them.
Despite everything, Tanushree remains hopeful. After returning to India during the pandemic, she was ready to relaunch her career. She had signed projects with decent budgets, but they mysteriously got shelved. Even then, she didn’t give up. She recalled saying, “Mahadev ki jab marzi hogi… yeh nahi toh kuch aur ho jaayega.”
