Saiyaara, directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Yash Raj Films, has taken the box office by storm. The romantic musical, which hit theatres on July 18, 2025, has crossed the Rs 400 crore mark globally. With Rs 265 crore already earned from Indian theatres in just 12 days, the Saiyaara box office collection is now targeting Rs 300 crore in the domestic market.
Starring debutants Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, the film has struck a chord with audiences thanks to its heartfelt storyline, emotional depth, and memorable music. The plot follows the journey of Vaani Batra, a soulful poet, and Krish Kapoor, a struggling musician, as they explore love, grief, and healing. From a modest start on 2,225 screens, the film’s presence has grown to 3,800 screens across India, which is a proof of its ever-increasing popularity.
Yash Raj Films acknowledged the milestone in a social media post, stating their pride in the film’s success. The post highlighted how both lead actors have become overnight sensations and new favourites among Gen Z audiences.

During its second weekend, the film saw a massive jump in footfalls in several international regions, with some areas witnessing a 300% rise. This surge is driven by strong word-of-mouth, which continues to attract new viewers globally.

Saiyaara’s Success Becomes Threat For Ajay Devgn’s Son Of Sardaar 2
While Saiyaara continues to grow, it’s creating trouble for other new releases. Son of Sardaar 2, starring Ajay Devgn, is struggling to secure enough screens. A trade source revealed to Pinkvilla, “Exhibitors are not willing to replace Saiyaara in its third week due to continued strong audience demand.”
The source added, “Non-national chains and single screens are only allotting around 35 percent of shows to Son of Sardaar 2, with some offering just two shows a day. This has left PVRInox frustrated, and the negotiations are ongoing.”
At the same time, Mahavatar Narsimha is gaining slow but steady attention and has begun to find more screens due to rising interest.
Will Ajay Devgn’s Sof Of Sardaar get the desired number of screens or suffer due to scattered showcasing? Let’s wait and watch!
