The entertainment world is mourning the sudden death of actress Shefali Jariwala, also known as the Kaanta Laga girl. The 42-year-old star passed away late Friday night after being rushed to a Mumbai hospital by her husband Parag Tyagi and family. Doctors declared her dead on arrival. While initial reports point to a cardiac arrest, the exact cause is still under investigation. An Accidental Death Report has been filed, and police are waiting for the forensic report.
Since the news broke, social media has been filled with tributes, old photos, and videos of Shefali. Fans are remembering her not only for her iconic music video but also for the happy moments she shared with her loved ones. One particular video has now gone viral, showing a happier side of the actress.
A video of Shefali dancing with her husband Parag Tyagi and their dog Simba is going viral online. The couple is seen enjoying the song “Tum Toh Thehre Pardesi” as they dance, smile, and share a sweet kiss gesture for the camera. Emotional scenes from Shefali Jariwala’s funeral have also left fans in tears. Her last rites were held at Oshiwara crematorium in Mumbai. In one video, Parag Tyagi is seen gently kissing Shefali’s forehead and caressing her face as he says his final goodbye.
Her mother was also seen collapsing beside Shefali’s body, overwhelmed with grief. YouTuber Hindustani Bhau, who shared a sibling-like bond with Shefali from their Bigg Boss 13, was seen helping Parag carry her mortal remains.
Speaking to ANI, he broke down in tears. He said, “I called her Chupdi. She was like my sister. She had spent Rs 25 lakh recently on her father’s surgery, and now he’s carrying his daughter’s bier. People say it was a heart attack, but she never had a weak heart.”
For the unversed, Shefali Jariwala became a household name in the early 2000s with the hit remix Kaanta Laga. Her bold look and confident screen presence made her an overnight star. She also appeared in the film Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, where she shared screen space with Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar.
Later, Shefali joined the dance show Nach Baliye with Parag Tyagi and returned to TV with Bigg Boss 13. Her strong presence on the show won hearts. During her time there, her past relationship with the late Sidharth Shukla came into focus. But Shefali always said they had “mutual respect” for each other, both on and off the screen.
