Bihar Viral Video, Liquors In LPG cylinders

Bihar government’s strict alcohol ban has been in place since 2016, but smugglers keep finding crazy new ways to sneak liquor into the state. The latest shocker came from Gopalganj district, where police caught a man hiding beer and foreign liquor inside an LPG gas cylinder. Even the cops were stunned by this unusual smuggling trick.

Liquor Smuggling Inside LPG Cylinders Baffles Gopalganj Police

The Gopalganj Excise Department stopped a man riding a bike near the Bihar-Uttar Pradesh border. He had an ordinary-looking gas cylinder strapped to the back of his bike. At first glance, nothing seemed suspicious.

But when the officers inspected the cylinder closely, they found it stuffed with 22 cans of beer and 22 sealed bottles of foreign liquor. In total, the police seized 11 litres of beer and 39 litres of foreign liquor. The smuggler, Suraj from Tamkuhi in UP, was arrested on the spot. His bike was also seized.

Excise Superintendent Amitesh Jha said, “We are looking into the entire network involved in this illegal shipment.” Authorities are working to find others connected to this risky operation.

Alcohol Ban In Bihar Faces Growing Challenges From Smugglers

Bihar’s alcohol prohibition, introduced by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on April 1, 2016, aims to reduce crime and improve public health. The ban has cut down alcohol use, but it has also pushed smuggling underground. Smugglers now use more creative and dangerous methods to dodge the law.

Hiding liquor inside gas cylinders is not only illegal but highly dangerous. These cylinders can explode, risking lives and property. Police fear such tricks could lead to serious accidents. Experts say cases like this highlight the big challenge Bihar faces in enforcing the ban.

This isn’t Bihar’s first unusual smuggling story. Recently, police in Bettiah even arrested a horse carrying illegal alcohol. In another case, a large shipment of liquor came by boat through the Gandak River, smuggled from UP.

Other dry states like Gujarat also face clever smuggling tactics. Studies show that prohibition often leads to hidden black markets, making enforcement difficult.

Bihar’s police and excise departments keep fighting smuggling with regular checks and arrests. But these daring cases show the battle to keep Bihar dry is far from over.
