Gurugram Viral Video: The continuous rain from the past two days in Gurugram, Haryana, has made several parts of the state stagnant. Especially urban roads in areas like Sector 56, Sohna Road, Rajiv Chowk and Cyber Hub turn into virtual rivers.
One such video is coming out showing the flooded streets of a residential area in Gurugram. As the roads turned into mini rivers, kids came out with a floating tube for swimming. The viral video, however, sparks online outrage over poor drainage systems.
A viral video shared by Times Now on Instagram captures the shocking state of Gurugram’s roads after a heavy downpour. The clip shows two kids casually swimming in waist-deep water right outside their homes, as if the flooded street were a pool.
While the sight may seem amusing at first, it highlights a far more serious issue—Gurugram’s recurring drainage failures and poor urban planning. Every monsoon, residents face the same waterlogged chaos, raising urgent questions about the city’s infrastructure and preparedness.
Such devastating conditions of the so-called well-planned urban roads show the fault in the system. This raises the genuine concern about whether the roads are planned with proper drainage. The rapid, unregulated constructions also leave no space for the water to seep into the earth. This also leads to waterlogging.
People suffering from it are naturally showing their outrage. They are using social media to film and post such videos, tagging local officials to take action. People are demanding immediate action to pump the water from the roads.
Well, monsoon hit, and rain-clogged roads are not a new sight to our eyes. Every year, the same scenario repeats again and again. Roads turn into rivers, and transportation disruptions lead to massive public harassment. But authorities kept mum and came up with the same old solutions. To mitigate the issue, the cities need to improve their drainage system from the core.
