A day after Republic TV editor-in-chief, Arnab Goswami sent to 14-day judicial custody, the Bombay High Court heared Arnab plea against his arrest.
Arnab was arrested from his Mumbai residence in connection to a case of abetment to suicide of an interior designer and his mother over non-payment. Late in the day, he was produced before the Alibag district magistrate court aling with two more accused, Feroz Shaikh and Nitesh Darda.
The arrest of Arnab Goswami evokes strong reaction from political spectrum including Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Ministers Prakash Javadekar, Smriti Irani , Ravi Shankar, Yogi Adityanath and many other. A Supreme Court lawyer Siddharth Acharya has also filed a complaint with National Human Rights Commission against Mumbai Police.
