T20 World Cup 2024: Nepal and Oman have made history as both countries qualified for the upcoming T20 World Cup. This will be the first time that both of these teams will be a part of the World Cup stage.

Both these teams reached the finals of the Asia qualifiers held in Nepal on Friday. The qualifiers are being held in Nepal and the support that the home team got was something unimaginable.

Just looking at the growth of cricket in Nepal, this team deserved to be part of the T20 World Cup. And now, they have proven that with their performance as well. It was a beautiful sight for every fan.

Comfortable Victories

The hosts beat the United Arab Emirates by eight wickets in the second semifinal to qualify for the finals. On the other hand, Oman thrashed Bahrain by 10 wickets in the first semi-final.

Oman’s Aqib Ilyas took four wickets for just ten runs and restricted Bahrain to a total of just 106 runs. On the other hand, Kushal Malla and Sandeep Lamichhane helped Nepal restrict UAE to just 134 runs.

Nepal’s opener Aasif Sheikh scored 63 runs to ensure that his team does not face any difficulties in causing a subpar total. Oman openers did not have to do anything special against such a low target and they chased comfortably.

T20 World Cup 2024

This will be the first time that Nepal will play in a World Cup tournament. Oman has also not gone ahead of the preliminary rounds before. The T20 World Cup 2024 will be hosted in the USA and West Indies.

So far 18 teams have qualified for the tournament and 2 more teams will be added from the Africa qualifiers. As you can see this will be the biggest T20 World Cup ever.
