The viral video from Meerut, shared by journalist Narendra Pratap on X, shows a chicken trader mercilessly thrashing his employees. Using a leather belt, Shaan Qureshi is seen in the clip beating two of his workers one by one in front of others in the room. Shockingly, several people present witnessed the assault, yet no one intervened.
According to the Free Press Journal report published on Monday, August 11, 2025, the disturbing footage reveals that the employees had asked for their three months’ pending salary. Enraged, the trader accused them of stealing chicken from his poultry and began the brutal assault.
The incident has sparked outrage online, with netizens demanding strict action against the accused and justice for the assaulted workers.
Public Outrage Grows Over Viral Incident
The violent incident of Meerut shocked everyone, prompting an immediate action against the poultry owner. They are tagging Meerut Police with the demand “please take action, sir Qureshi ki shaan pe“. They are openly claiming, “aise logo pr action liya jana chahiye koi bhi ho ya kisi bhi dharm ka ho“.
While some are mocking the ill psyche of the chicken trader by saying, “Free ka murga bhi kahoge or salary bhi loge“. They are suggesting that the owner could have cut the money from the stolen chickens and paid them the rest of the salary instead of beating them so brutally. They say, “Murga ki ₹ katke baki ka paisa dene ke bajaye mara galat kiya usko bhi usi trah peeta jana chahiye police ke samne“.
By reflecting on the exploitation of poor people by the rich, one says wisely, “Har ameer aadmi, kisi bade ghar ka maalik kisi na kisi insaan ka chardiwari ke andar exploitation kar raha. Bas kuch baahar aati hain, baaki daba di jaati hain.”
This disturbing viral video from Meerut is definitely an eye-opener for the ongoing torture of the poor by the rich. While stealing chickens is definitely a crime, the owner does not have the right to punish them himself with a belt.
