Reacting to the remarks directed at her, Mahua Moitra declared that “idiots don’t get idioms.” Shortly after that, a case had been filed against her by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). She further added that idioms are metaphorical speech and should not be twisted to the point where they depict direct criticism of the individual.
