Mumbai civic body poll: Tejaswi Yadav, Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, expected to campaign for Uddhav Sena

Mumbai civic body poll: The Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) is expected to run Tejashwi Yadav, the deputy chief minister of Bihar, in the forthcoming Mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections. This follows a meeting between the deputy chief minister and Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray on Wednesday in Patna.

Following Thackeray’s arrival in Patna, rumours started to circulate that he was more focused on the BMC elections, where the party is now in control, than on putting together an opposition coalition to challenge the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Uddhav Sena is likely to face difficulties

After the recent Shiv Sena split and Eknath Shinde’s nomination as chief minister of Maharashtra, the Uddhav Sena group is likely to encounter difficulties maintaining its position of authority in the BMC. The votebank of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar residents who reside in Mumbai, which has a sizable population of about 50 lakh, could be extremely important in the face of such difficulties.
