On Dussehra, BKU burns effigies of PM

Spearheading the agitation against the three central farm laws in Haryana, the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) Sunday burnt effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Amit Shah, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, his deputy Dushyant Chautala, state BJP chief Om Prakash Dhankar and other several BJP leaders at several places in state.

BKU (Charuni) recently called that it will burn effigies of PM Modi at the district level in Haryana while terming him as “Kisano ka Ravana” (Ravana of farmers).

Meanwhile, Members of the Anndata Kisan Union (AKU) took out a march and burnt copies of the three farm-related Acts outside the Mini-Secretariat here on Sunday to protest against the new laws.

Gurmukh Singh, national president of the AKU, led the protesters, who burnt an effigy of the Union government. He said the three farm-related laws would have an adverse effect on the economy.
