Rahul Gandhi Accuses Government of Silencing Opposition in Parliament

“Congress allows government members to speak in the House, but when the opposition tries to raise its voice, we are not given permission,” Rahul Gandhi said.
“It’s My Right to Speak,” Says Rahul Gandhi
Gandhi emphasized that as the Leader of the Opposition, he is constitutionally entitled to express his views and represent the concerns of millions of citizens in Parliament. However, he claimed that even his voice is being silenced.
He further emphasized that as the Leader of the Opposition, he has the constitutional right to speak in Parliament, but even he is being denied the opportunity. “I am the Leader of the Opposition. It is my right to speak in the House, but I am not allowed to do so,” he added.
Gandhi’s remarks come amid growing tension in Parliament, where several opposition leaders have expressed concern over a lack of space for debate and discussion. The issue has triggered a wider conversation on democratic values and parliamentary decorum.
The Congress party and other INDIA bloc members have been pressing for more balanced proceedings, accusing the ruling BJP of bypassing norms and restricting dissent.
