Student Beaten Up for Disobeying During Prayer Meet

A teacher and headmaster have been arrested for beating up a student in a private school in the district’s Shrimadhopur police station area.

Police said that in this case the family members of the teacher and the student have filed cases against each other.

Ringas Circle Officer Kanhaiyalal said that during the prayer meeting, a class 12 student of a private school was instructed by the teacher Pradeep to stand in the queue properly and for not following it, the teacher allegedly beat him up, which he opposed.

The student’s family members alleged that the student protested against the teacher’s beating, following which the headmaster Sagarmal and the accused teacher took him to the room where he was allegedly beaten up further, they said.

He said that the incident happened on Wednesday and a case was registered in this regard late on Wednesday night.

He said that a case has been registered against the accused headmaster and teacher under sections 323, 341 of the Indian Penal Code and SC/ST Act in this regard and both were arrested on Thursday.

He said that another school teacher Mukesh Kumar has also filed a case of assault against the student. It is alleged that the teacher was slapped by the student due to which his glasses were broken.

Police is investigating the case.
