Amidst another appalling incident of the live TV debate in the Noida studio, a Samajwadi Party worker allegedly slapped Maulana Sajid Rashidi, who was one of the participants in a live TV debate. The cleric\’s controversial statement against SP leader Akhilesh Yadav\’s wife and MP Dimple Yadav has created a stir in political and social circles. Since the video has gone viral on social media, it has become one of the strongest debates on the boundaries of free speech and personal responsibility.

What Triggered the On-Air Assault?

Maulana Rashidi has been accused of making inappropriate and derogatory remarks about former MP Dimple Yadav during a fiery debate aired in a studio. The statements had an offensive connotation for the SP supporters, and Mohit Nagar, who was in the debate, responded physically when he slapped the cleric in front of the camera. Things went out of control as each side of the supporters became violent. Sector-126 police of Noida responded to the situation to control and open an investigation.
