“Congratulations on your 74th Republic Day, India!” We’re commemorating Republic Day with a performance of Vande Mataram, India’s national anthem! “US Officers Raghavan (flute) and Stephanie (guitar) collaborate with Pavithra Chari,” the embassy said in a tweet, releasing the rendition video. Earlier today, US State Secretary Antony Blinken wished India a happy Republic Day and stated that “the connection between India and the US is simply one of the most consequential in the world.”

India is commemorating the 74th Republic Day, which marks the promulgation of the Indian Constitution on January 26, 1950. President Droupadi Murmu will address the nation on Republic Day from Kartavya Path in New Delhi. The parade’s chief guest will be Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the nation in paying somber homage to the fallen soldiers by laying a wreath at the National War Memorial. The president will raise the National Flag, followed by the National Anthem and a booming 21-gun salute. The 21-gun salute will be fired by 105-mm Indian Field Guns, rather than the classic 25-pounder gun, to signify the expanding ‘Aatmanirbharta’ in defense.
