The Crown Season 5: On Saturday night, a brief trailer for The Crown’s impending fifth season was presented at the streaming service’s worldwide fan gathering, Tudum. The season’s tone is set by the 35-second teaser, which offers some behind-the-scenes looks at Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s tumultuous separation and divorce in the early 1990s. Elizabeth II’s life and reign are the inspiration for the TV series The Crown. Her life was chronicled in its first four seasons from the late 1940s to the 1980s. Over the course of the following 20 or so years, the final two seasons will wrap up the plot.

The brief advertisement begins with close-up photos of Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s hands, with the voiceover announcing that “Buckingham Palace is issuing this statement. The Prince and Princess of Wales’ separation is regrettable. Following a brief glimpse of Diana’s face, Charles is next seen in a similar close-up. The voice of a newscaster can be heard stating. “After Prince Charles opened up to the country, the Princess of Wales outdid him by discussing her failed marriage, her current situation, and her future.” Following are more pictures of Diana having her face painted.
Following is a montage of news reports discussing the escalating controversy surrounding the royal couple’s split and rumours that Charles may have had an extramarital affair. The next scene is a long shot of Diana in a studio, then a close-up of Charles seated in a chair in front of a camera. A newsreader declares, “This is turning into all out war,” as images of Diana and Charles appear on camera monitors.
When will season 5 release?
The much-anticipated season’s release date was also disclosed in the teaser. Netflix will start streaming The Crown season 5 on November 9, more than two years after the final season. For the season, Imelda Staunton will replace Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth. New actors Dominic West and Elizabeth Debicki will take on the roles of Charles and Diana, respectively. After the passing of Queen Elizabeth on September 8th, this will be the first season of the program to air.
