UK: Trevor Noah Sarcastically Slams Racist Offended by Rishi Sunak’s Appointment as UK PM

UK: Indian-origin First Prime Minister of Color & First Hindu to Enter 10, Downing Street is Rishi Sunak of the United Kingdom. The 42-year-old leader of the Conservative Party has openly acknowledged his religious beliefs while claiming to be a British citizen with Indian “cultural background.” Trevor Noah, host of The Daily Show, slammed alleged racial remarks and quickly pointed out those who are offended by Sunak’s appointment.
The UK PM’s critics were questioned by Noah on his satirical television programme.

Many people voiced their opinions about Sunak’s appointment, often without being asked and mostly positive but occasionally also racial. Sunak’s admirers claim that the UK is one step closer to becoming a more diverse society, but detractors claim that they have already failed to connect with their leader.

During the episode, Noah remarked that Sunak was “Indian and a Hindu” and that he was also one of the most attractive UK Prime Ministers. Noah compared the Indian-born PM to the former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, calling Sunak a “snack.”

Of course, not everyone in the UK is pleased that Rishi Sunak won the competition and made history. And neither his policies nor his personality is to blame. No, there are some folks who have an issue with something else, according to the host of The Daily Show.

During the show, he played a clip from the British Radio Show and a voicemail left for the radio host (RJ). The caller on the radio criticised Sunak’s appointment and claimed that the UK PM should be “white” without providing any explanation.

The caller said, “85% of English people, yeah, are white English people,” when the RJ on the British Radio Show inquired whether the “true problem was that Rishi Sunak was a Brown man and if people didn’t trust him.” They also want a prime minister who is representative of them.

Could you picture him joining the Scottish Nationalists and becoming their prime minister? said the radio caller. Could you picture me being the leader of Saudi Arabia or Pakistan? No! They are significant. I’m sorry you don’t like it, but England is the main topic of discussion here. Yes, there are 85% white English people in the country. They also want a prime minister who is representative of them.
Noah dismissed the idea and remarked, in a clear jab at former British colonies, “Yeah, this (the caller on the radio show) guy has a valid point. Can you imagine if white people from England desired to control nations where no one resembled them? Oh, no, it will never occur. What kind of a world would that be?
“You now understand what amuses me. Funny how racists often claim that colonisation was a good idea. Up until they felt like they had been colonised, it was just business. The man (Sunak) is British despite not even having been colonised. What’s the matter with you?” said Noah.

UK can now legitimately blame a brown man for their errors, Noah claims

Noah slammed the British colonies, saying that Sunak’s detractors should be happy with his appointment because the UK can now legitimately blame a brown man for their errors.

“And if you ask me, British racists are viewing the situation incorrectly overall. This might be advantageous for you people. You’ll finally be able to hold a brown person accountable for your nation’s issues after 400 years. Your aspirations are coming true!” he said.

He claimed that the purpose of the UK’s withdrawal from the European Union was to retain a “white” England, an apparent jab at the UK’s decision to leave the EU. The host said, “But look how that turned out.

“It (Brexit) immediately led to the Prime Minister of India. What frightens you? Does he (the caller on the radio show) believe that Sunak would approach the platform on his first day of work and declare that it is the greatest honour of his life to be able to return to the nation he owes so much to? I also want to emphasise that I am selling the entire nation to India as a gesture of appreciation. revenge is due.The plan has always been to do this.
