These majestic creatures are considered "relatively safe" to feed due to their lack of sharp teeth. However, a recent viral video captured a heart-pounding moment when a little girl's encounter with one of these tarpons took an unexpected turn.

An unforgettable feeding attempt

The video which was shared on the Instagram page of ladbible showcases a little girl lying on a dock near a river holding a piece of fish in her hand to feed a tarpon. With confidence, she taps the water's surface with more fish as bait, just above the water.

People watching are excited to see what will happen. Suddenly, a huge tarpon fish comes out of the water very fast and grabs the bait. It takes a big bite, nearly swallowing half of the girl's hand. The fish tries to pull her hand, but she stays calm and doesn't panic.

A miraculous escape from Tarpon

In a very nerve-wracking moment, the big fish lets go of the girl's hand and goes back into the water. The girl checks her hand, still surprised by what just happened.
