Viral video: Industrialist Anand Mahindra's curious and explorative nature led him to discover a hidden gem in Amritsar, Punjab - the 'Temple of Tea Service'. Known for his affinity towards sharing videos and images that promote talent, showcase new places, or endorse progressive ideas, Mahindra recently tweeted a nearly seven-minute video of this remarkable place.
Amritsar, famous for the iconic Golden Temple, is a city where the principle of "sarbat da bhala" prevails, signifying blessings for everyone. In line with this ethos, Ajit Singh, lovingly called 'Babaji', runs a small tea stall located under the shade of a majestic banyan tree. For over 40 years, he has been offering tea to anyone who visits his stall, without asking for any payment. Instead, visitors willingly offer him an amount as per their wish, embracing the spirit of generosity.

In the heartwarming video shared by Anand Mahindra, a loyal customer of Babaji speaks of his charitable nature. Despite facing challenges like utensils getting stolen, Babaji never complains and diligently serves tea from 9 am to 4 pm daily. Amritsar's 'Temple of Tea Service' has become a symbol of selflessness and compassion, exemplifying the essence of "sarbat da bhala".
Inspired by this noble enterprise, Anand Mahindra expressed his intention to visit the tea stall during his next trip to Amritsar, honoring the incredible work of Babaji and celebrating the spirit of giving that continues to thrive in the city.
