Viral Video: A video of Aam Aadmi Party MLA Baljinder Kaur being slapped by her husband has surfaced on social media. In this video shot on July 10, the two-time MLA from Talwandi can be heard arguing with her husband Sukhraj Singh. In the video, Sukhraj Singh is seen slapping Kaur after getting up suddenly.
It can be seen in the video that some people standing near the couple intervene and push Singh. In the video, Baljinder Kaur, a two-time AAP MLA from Talwandi Sabo, can be seen approaching her husband Sukhraj Singh during an argument. Her husband is seen getting up from his seat in anger and slapping some people standing next to both of them intervene and try to drive Singh away.
It can also be seen in the video that the MLA starts crying on the act of her husband. However, Kaur could not be reached for comment on the matter. No complaint has been lodged by AAP MLA. Meanwhile, Punjab State Commission for Women chairperson Manisha Gulati said that she has seen the video and will take suo motu cognizance of the incident.
Kaur married Singh, the convener of AAP’s youth wing for Majha region, in February 2019. She did her M.Phil from Panjab University, Patiala in the year 2009. Before joining politics, she was a professor of English at Mata Gujri College in Fatehgarh Sahib.
