A shocking viral video from Babina, Jhansi, is currently the talk of the nation. It shows Sapna Tomar, granddaughter of the infamous baagi Paan Singh Tomar, showering slaps and punches on a government official.

The official, Vibhav Kumar Rawat, and the team were installing smart meters in the area when the assault occurred. The video quickly went viral, sparking outrage and drawing attention to the Tomar family’s past.

The viral video posted by Bharat Samachar on their X handle shows the intense outrage of Sapna Tomar. She did not hesitate to throw rounds of slaps, around seven slaps in 6 seconds, to the government official Vibhav Kumar Rawat.

The reason for her sudden outrage is a sheer disagreement about the installation of smart meters in her area. This is a nationwide government initiative, and junior engineer Rawat and his team were fulfilling their duty in the Punjabi Colony, Babina, at Janshi. 

But Sapna opposed the instalment, and the situation soon turned violent when she suddenly attacked the engineer. His fellow workers captured the entire incident, and we can see her family members quickly intervene to stop her.

Netizens Split: Applause and Outrage Follow Jhansi Video

Initial police investigation after the engineer’s complaint reveals that Sapna Tomar is the granddaughter of the notorious dacoit Paan Singh Tomar. This provides a new perspective on the entire incident, eliciting mixed reactions online.

While one user Arvind Soni condemns the violent act of Sapna saying, “इसने अपने पूर्वज की नाक कटा ली...आज सारे newspaper में डकैत ही लिखा गया है जो पान सिंह तोमर कहते कहते मर गए हम डकैत नहीं है बागी हैं....”, he also sympathises with the ideology of her grandfather.

There has been massive support and sympathy for the late Paan Singh Tomar. He was a notorious decoy for the government, but for the people of Chambal and Bihar, he managed to win a soft corner. Even today, people continue to oppose marking him as a Dacoit instead of a Baagi or rebel. @VireshPatel15 says, “डकैत नहीं बागी, जो सरकार के खिलाफ थे ,डाकू लूट मार करता है उसे सरकार से कोई मतलब नहीं रहता ।” 

Another user Ankit Pandey points out that her father, Shivram Singh Tomar must have been feeling sad to see his daughter’s act. He says, “बेचारे के परिवार वाले वीडियो देखे होंगे तो क्या सोचते हैं। जब सरकारी नौकरी लगी होगी तो पूरा परिवार कितना खुश रहा होगा, माता-पिता को कितना गर्व हुआ होगा। लेकिन आज तो सारी इज्जत निकल गई। किसी को मारना बहुत गलत बात है।”  

Baagi Paan Singh Tomar’s Family’s Present Condition 

The violent act of Sapna Tomar yet again sparks discussions on the late grandfather. After the police encounter of Paan Singh Tomar, his family relocated from Morena to Jhansi to lead a normal life.

Sapna’s father and Paan Singh’s son, Shivram Singh Tomar, joined the army to serve the nation. Since then, the family has been residing peacefully in Babina. But this fresh viral video of Sapna Tomar is bringing back the rebellious memories of the Chambal dacoit era to all our minds. 

Rebellion runs in the blood of Sapna Tomar. However, such acts of offence against government officials are condemnable, and the police are taking action against them through inquiries.
