Viral Video: A father is seen to be making his child urinate on the metro track in front of all. Upon asking for the reason for such careless, uncivilised behaviour, the father completely ignores the queries.
This made netizens feel ashamed of the repeated cases of shameful acts of Indians regarding civil sense. However, some are also considering this to be an emergency case just because of the child. Demand for civic education and a larger number of toilets inside metro stations is thus rising high.
Child Seen Urinating Publicly At Metro Track
The viral clip, shared by the page Taza Tamacha on their X handle, shows a father letting his small boy urinate on the metro track. A person seeing this approaches them to stop, but the father-son duo does not. The incident happened on the Inderlok metro station of the Delhi metro, yet again questioning the civic sense of Indians.
The caption of the post highlights the fact that “Toilets in trains and at railway stations are dirty, it’s understandable that you can’t use them”. However, this logic does not apply to the toilets of metro stations. They are usually clean and well-maintained. But somehow, the father finds it to be all right to take the easy way and let his son urinate in front of everyone.
Public Reaction and Civic Sense Debate
The viral video is making netizens doubly outraged. Not just the man is violating basic civic behaviour, but he is also completely unapologetic about it. People are thus suggesting that he must pay a penalty money for this. They say, “Why he is not penalised , samjhane se log nahi darte jab tak 10-20 hzar ka chalan na ho !”.
People are appreciating the man for capturing the video for public awareness. They say, “You are doing a great job by recording the video, after watching this 10 other people will feel ashamed to do the same”. However, people are also being considerate because of the little boy. They say, “Bhai chhota bacha hai jab tak toilet search karta tab tak to pant me susu ho jata kya ho gya bacha hai”.
Most people consider the act wrong, but children often don’t have enough time to find a toilet. They say “Yeh galat hai …but jab bacche sath mein hote hain toh …aise karna pad skta hai …bacho se control nahi hota”. People are also raising the fact that often many metro stations do not have a toilet, or they are quite a distance away. Reflecting on this, they say, “I am not defending this person but DMRC should think about having a “toilet” inside the metro station”
Incident Raises Questions on Civic Sense
This incident freshly kindled the notion of civic sense. Civic sense education should be taught from childhood. But here, the father himself lets his son urinate in front of all. He could have taken the son to a guarded place, if not exactly to a toilet.
Metro authorities also need to introduce more toilets in the stations, considering child and elderly people. This viral video is definitely making us reflect on our own behaviours in public places.
