Among the posts, the NBT Hindi News handle on X shared the video, claiming, "A professor from Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology in Nadia district, West Bengal, is marrying a first-year student in a classroom." The report further stated that following the viral video, the university administration had sent the female professor on leave.
However, Dainik Bhaskar has now debunked these claims. According to the fact check, the viral video showing the woman teacher and student in the classroom was not a marriage, but a social experiment. The university’s head, Tapas Chakraborty, confirmed that the video was part of an academic performance for a subject. He explained that it was never meant to be publicised, and no unethical behavior was involved.
The woman teacher in question, who teaches psychology, clarified that the video had been edited and misrepresented. She expressed that people were trying to defame her, and that she would take legal action for the misleading portrayal.
