Viral Video: On the internet, it's common to see state road transportation buses making risky overtaking attempts and racing with one another while endangering the lives of the passengers. An Instagram user recently posted a video of a bus from the Himachal Road Transport Corporation trying to pass another vehicle on a mountainous road.

Risky stunts by driver goes viral on Internet

A few pretty risky attempts are made by the government bus to pass the rival bus. While some Instagram users stated that HRTC buses are the fastest form of transit in hills, others had a more practical interpretation of the incident and criticised the drivers. Similar bus accidents where the driver was speeding have been reported in the past.

Bus drivers are frequently spotted racing and driving erratically across the country. The viral video has amassed more than 7 lakh views along with 66k likes.

Recent survey shows shocking results

In a survey done by Himachal Pradesh's railroads, tourism, and transportation authorities yielded results that made many cringe. According to the data, almost 3,000 people pass away in road accidents in Himachal Pradesh each year.

Every month, there are about 200 accidents reported in the state. Over 13, 740 traffic incidents resulted in the deaths of approximately 5,503 people in the previous five years, according to the poll. The state is ranked 22nd in the nation according to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways' annual Road Accidents report.
