A fish-hunting fisherman becomes the hunted in this shocking, dramatic video that has gone viral. The dramatic nature of the video has caused people to talk about animals’ behaviors in oceans around the world.

Sudden Attack in the Deep Blue Ocean

This incident happened on the open ocean, where he was bringing in fish from a small boat. He brought up a big octopus when, suddenly, without thinking, the octopus jumped onto his head to protect itself and then wrapped its tentacles around his head so he couldn’t see or breathe.

25 Seconds of Intense Struggle

For twenty-five seconds, the fisherman wrestled with an octopus, trying to get free. He used his gloved hands to pull the tentacles off, but they clung tightly to him with their powerful suction forces. While they fought, the octopus also released black ink that covered the fisherman’s face and upper body.

The fisherman also had to deal with being on a rocking boat in open water, but he held his balance and continued to fight to get the octopus off.

After a lengthy struggle, the fisherman was finally able to pull the octopus off his face. Although he was covered in ink, suction marks, and obviously shaken from the fight, the fisherman had no visible injuries. The fisherman then held the living octopus to show what had happened to him after the weird event.

Why Do Octopuses Do This?

According to experts, octopuses are very intelligent creatures and use various defensive techniques (ink release and using their strong suction capabilities) to defend themselves when threatened. The octopus acted in this way because it was reacting instinctively in a survival situation rather than attacking the fisherman.
