Viral Video: While livestreaming her solo trip vacation in Hong Kong, a Korean YouTuber encountered a sad occurrence. On Twitch, the YouTuber goes by the handle May5w. On Sunday night, she had a disturbing interaction with a man. After portions of her livestream went viral on social networking sites like YouTube, people expressed their outrage and concern over the situation, which helped it garner a lot of media attention.

Late-Night Encounter at a Hong Kong Tram Stop

Around midnight, May was waiting at a tram stop in Central, Hong Kong, with the intention of going back to her hotel when the event started. A man approached her while she was waiting and asked about the tram routes. They started talking, but as time went on, the woman’s worries mounted as a result of the late hour and the lack of trams. The man asked her for directions to his home in Kennedy Town but she opted to take the MTR (Mass Transit Railway). May politely volunteered to direct him after realising they were going in the same route.

When they arrived at the MTR station, things became worse when the man cornered May and roughly caressed her waist and chest before giving her an unwanted kiss on the head. She then yelled, “I’m not alone!” at this point. Even as he continued to harass her for another ten seconds, she fought to defend herself while he tried to kiss her face. He eventually let her go and left. May’s livestream continued to record the events throughout this terrifying ordeal, with worried viewers pleading with her to leave and call the police. May screamed for aid in a fit of fear as she walked up to the turnstiles of the MTR station, all of which was caught on camera. She was in difficulty when a sympathetic male passerby observed her and asked if she was okay. She responded, “Yes, I’m okay, thank you so much.”
