Though her reason can be justified, her intentions to defame him by secretly capturing and sharing his clip on social media are making the netizens angry. The viral video thus leads everyone to question whether body shaming men is acceptable!!
Viral Video: Woman Cancels Ride Over Driver’s Weight
The video is shared in the Ghar Ke Kalesh page on their X handle. It shows the lady secretly capturing the Rapido driver as he waits for her to take the ride. She finds it funny to make the driver wait on the road, as she decides to cancel the ride.
The driver is visibly overweight, which made her think about how she would manage to sit on the bike behind him. Though the point she is raising is valid, the way she mockingly captures the entire situation is making everyone enraged.
Internet Divided Over Woman’s Excuse
People are visibly upset by the way she mocks the man for being overweight. They see it as a classic case of body shaming. They say, “CLASSIC: Just reverse the gender and see the outrage. Body shaming, body shaming… Bla bla“.
People are thinking that she could have respectfully cancelled the ride without sharing it on social media to make a joke at the man. They say, “And you’re sharing it” and “Usko Cool banna hai“. One thus point it out as “Two points: :1 – She is not wrong, 2- She should not have made the video and published it“.
Some are also defending her by saying, “But she is right though, where the heck is she going to sit?” and “This is insane, lots of weight he has“. Though she has the right to cancel her ride based on the driver being overweight, she has no right to film him and post him on social media to make a mockery of him. It is the way she decides to humiliate the man on social media that is making everyone angry.
Is Body Positivity Just For Women?
This incident made us wonder whether body positivity just stands with women and not for men. But in reality, both men and women of all shapes and sizes have the equal right to live respectfully in this world. Nobody has the right to make fun of them for their bodily appearances.
But in this case, the lady is clearly violating this basic civic dignity. The Rapido driver was doing his job, trying to earn his bread respectfully. He must have his own reasons to become overweight, and she should not make fun of it by secretly capturing and posting his clip online.
