Viral Video: Open Indecency Between Boy And Girl on Train Berth Raises Morality Questions, Netizen Says ’Kalyug Hai’

The recent clip capturing the couple in an intimate state on the railway coach caught the internet's attention. The viral clip shows a young couple lying close on the upper berth of the sleeper coach. 

While the couple seems completely immersed in each other, one passenger captures them to publish on social media. This resulted in a widespread debate on who is at fault here. While some netizens are criticising the couple saying ‘Kalyug Hai’, others are raising questions about capturing them without consent.  

Couples Get Cosy in the Railway Upper Berth  

The viral clip of a couple getting cosy on the upper berth of a train has stirred strong emotions online. Shared by Rupali Gautam on her X handle, the video captures the pair lying intimately in a sleeper coach, raising serious questions about public decency. Rupali, clearly disturbed, captioned the video, "Kisi ko apni girlfriend ke saath saarvajanik jagah par is tarah letne ka adhikar nahin hai." Her words reflect the discomfort many viewers felt.

She went on to ask, "Train ke dibbe mein agar yeh sab aapke saamne ho raha hota to aap kya karte?", leaving followers conflicted, angry, and questioning where to draw the line between privacy and public behavior.

They were seen to have an intimate moment, probably kissing each other while watching something on the phone. A fellow passenger has recorded it and shared it on the internet. This has sparked a widespread conflict among netizens.  

Social Media Divided Over Couple's Act

Netizens are sharply divided over the viral train video, sparking an emotional tug-of-war on social media. While some are furious at the couple for showing such intimacy in a public space, others are equally outraged at the invasion of their privacy.

Those criticizing the couple feel that such acts cross the line of public decency. One user firmly said, "Kisi ko apane boyfriend ke sath aise kisi sarvjanik jagah pe letane ka adhikar ekdam hi nhi hai." Another echoed similar sentiments, believing that public platforms shouldn't tolerate such behavior.

On the other side, voices of concern are rising against the person who filmed and posted the clip without consent. A user questioned the ethics behind it, asking, "Lekin aapko yeh video post karne ka adhikar hai?" Another strongly pointed out, "Kisi ki personal video share karne k adhikar kisi ko nhi h."

Amidst this clash, a user expressed frustration over the attention given to such content, warning that it only fuels more of the same: "In logon ko jitna highlight karoge, utna hi zyada yeh sab hoga. 😷"

The internet, it seems, remains torn between the lines of moral conduct and the boundaries of personal privacy.

Public Decency Laws Under Fresh Scrutiny

This incident has also raised questions about the clarity and enforcement of public decency laws in India. While showing affection in public space is now unlawful, knowing the limits is necessary. Section 294 of the Indian Penal Code says if it is obscene to others, then PDA can lead to punishments. 

However, this also does not give rights to people capturing such moments and posting them on social media. Both things are wrong in their place, and people need to act more sensibly while in public.
