The video, which went viral on social media platform X, indicates that the incident started when the car of the African individuals was coming from the wrong direction and hit a truck driver. According to the video's caption, the Africans assaulted the truck driver, to which the public started hitting back. The video portrays an aggressive attack by the crowd on the foreigners who are desperately running away from the assault.
In the video, there is a policeman, but he does not seem to do anything at all to stop this carnage. The road where the attack took place has been closed due to the furore over the incident. Many people standing around are recording the incident with their mobiles, but no one seems to have rushed to the aid of the ones being beaten up.
Mixed responses have been received to the video on social media. While some users argued that such confrontations were nothing out of the ordinary in Mohali, others faulted the reaction of the crowd. Others slam the way of presentation and apparent inaction of the video and law enforcement. The video, shared by "Ghar Ke Kalesh" with over 131,000 views, has gone viral on social media. This incident speaks a lot to public safety and authorities' roles in keeping order during such violent encounters.
