Viral Video: Dramatic and horrifying video footage from an apartment complex in Avadi, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, has gone popular on social media. The video shows an infant laying on the edge of a tin roof after falling from a balcony. In the viral video, people are seen holding an open bedsheet on the ground to catch the youngster if she falls. People were also spotted risking their lives by going onto the balcony to save the child.
Description of the Incident
The three-minute viral video depicts the dramatic rescue of the toddler, who fell from the fourth-story balcony and landed on a tin shade on the second floor. Another tenant of the same complex recorded the video. Harin Magi, eight months old, is shown in the video lying on her hands and knees on the edge of a tin shade. A slight movement would have caused her to fall from there.
Rescue Operation Initiated
While homeowners’ shouts can be heard in the footage, three men climb up from a first-floor window and kidnap the child. To keep the infant safe, a mattress was placed underneath the bedsheet. As the tension builds in the video, the infant gets closer to the roof’s edge, her small legs almost dangling over the abyss.
Shrieks get louder as a man emerges from a first-floor window, standing on the railing to grab for the youngster. With two others holding him steady, he extends his arm, grabs the newborn, and safely transfers her to a waiting person inside.
