Viral Video: In a video that has gone viral, a woman who was riding a train without a ticket argued with other passengers rather than giving up the seat she had claimed with force. The woman’s actions have not only infuriated many online users, but Indian Railways has also commented to the widely shared video on X (previously Twitter).
Initial Confrontation
“Meri seat nahi hai (It is not my seat),” she admitted without batting an eyelid, upon being questioned by the passenger whose reserved seat she had occupied. The man requested her to vacate but, in vain. “Aap TTE (Traveling Ticket Examiner) ko bulaiyye. TTE aayega, tab baat karenge (Call the TTE. I will speak to him),” she said, in a rather rude tone.
She was asked to leave her seat and wait close by by the person in question, who was also filming the woman. However, she refused, and when requested to get out of her seat, she reacted angrily and disrespectfully to other passengers.
Defiant Response
“Main sunnewaali nahi hoon. Main baithi hoon, yahin baithungi. Khade raho, bolte raho. Mujhe koi farq nahi padhta. Kardo complain (I am not going to listen. I will sit here. You can keep standing there, keep on talking. I don’t care. Go ahead and complain).” With 279.6k views to date, Shonee Kapoor’s brief video has gone viral. The official passenger assistance account, Railway Seva, requested information in order to conduct additional research. Northern Railway gave a response as well.
